Acton Bridge is a rural village set in the Cheshire countryside, the northern boundary being defined by the River Weaver. Formerly there were many dairy farms in the village and the village was, in yesteryear, renowned for its fruit orchards particularly Hazel Pears, hence the name of the local pub. It is now a quiet dormitory village but with easy connections for road and rail travel. The village is totally washed over by the North Cheshire Green Belt.
