Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In order to comply with Government guidance on distancing, numbers of people together and especially for everybody to stay at home unless it is absolutely necessary, the scheduled Parish Council meetings will not take place until further notice.

To ensure that necessary Parish Council business is dealt with, a Pandemic Crisis Management Team has been established in accordance with a Pandemic Contingency Plan that has been approved by all Parish Councillors.  The Team consists of the Chairman (Bob Holt), Vice Chairman (Trevor Brocklebank) and the Clerk (Carole Robinson).

The abridged Parish Council meeting that has been arranged for 6th April 2020 is now cancelled and the published Agenda will be addressed by the Pandemic Crisis Management Team.  The Team will review the issues and a record of the proceedings will be published on the web site under the ‘Agendas and Minutes’ tab.  A copy of the abridged Agenda to be discussed by the Pandemic Crisis Management Team can also be found there.

Bench on Acton Lane

Weaver Vale Cycling Club arranged a replacement for the bench which commemorates one of their members and a former resident of Acton Bridge, Alan Littlemore. The Parish Council made a donation of £100 towards the costs, and it put in place in Summer 2017.

The seat provides a welcome rest stop for walkers and cyclists as the climb Acton Lane.
